The Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) was formed in 1980, following the graduation of participants from the first Senior Executive Course (SEC) of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru. Membership was automatic for all graduates, creating a network of leaders dedicated to national development and public service. The Association was designed to bridge communication gaps among top policy and decision makers in Nigeria’s public and private sectors. Over time, AANI became a platform where leaders could share ideas, collaborate, and support one another in driving positive change for the country. In December 1988, under the leadership of Otunba Olabiyi Durojaiye, AANI launched its first Newsletter. The publication aimed to keep members informed, strengthen connections, and promote ongoing communication among senior executives. Although initially irregular, the newsletter became a key tool for uniting members and sharing developments within the Association. A Lasting Vision From its inception, AANI has served as a vital link between the National Institute and its alumni. It continues to foster collaboration, leadership, and national service, reflecting a shared vision to unite distinguished Nigerians in the pursuit of a stronger, more developed nation.
