The President of the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI), Ambassador Emmanuel Obi Okafor, mni, on behalf of the National Executive Committee and the entire AANI family, warmly celebrates Engr. Jani Ibrahim, FNSE, FAEng, FCIoD, OON, mni (SEC 24, 2002), on the joyous occasion of his birthday today, Saturday, 8th August, 2026.
Engr. Ibrahim's leadership as President of AANI from 2009 to 2012, and earlier as Secretary-General from 1999 to 2003, reflect a man whose commitment to the ideals and advancement of the National Institute alumni community has been consistent, selfless, and transformative. His is a life built on engineering excellence, entrepreneurial courage, and a deep passion for Nigeria's industrial and economic development.
As the 23rd National President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) and Chairman of the Organised Private Sector of Nigeria (OPSN), he drives policy for over 100 chambers of commerce across Nigeria, championing AfCFTA integration, private sector development, and the advancement of Small and Medium Enterprises across Africa. The Lubcon Group, which he founded as the first indigenous lubricant blending company in Nigeria to achieve ISO 9001 certification, with operations extending to Ghana and Ethiopia, stands as a towering testament to his entrepreneurial vision and industrial leadership.
He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School and a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering (FAEng), and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Directors (FCIoD), and has been honoured with the national award of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Nigeria's economic development.
