On the auspicious occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, I extend warm felicitations to our esteemed Muslim members, the entire AANI family and all Nigerians across faiths and divides. May this sacred festival, which embodies the timeless virtues of sacrifice, obedience, faith, tolerance and compassion, inspire us all towards greater commitment to national unity, peaceful coexistence and selfless service to humanity. As we celebrate, we must reflect deeply on the profound lessons of Eid: sacrifice for the common good, love for one another, devotion to God, and commitment to justice, peace and reconciliation. Nigeria can only attain its full greatness when we embrace unity over division, patriotism over selfishness and collective progress over narrow interests.
I pay glowing tribute to the resilience, courage and patriotic spirit of Nigerians who continue to demonstrate remarkable perseverance in the face of prevailing security and socio-economic challenges. The enduring faith of our people in the promise and destiny of Nigeria remains a powerful source of hope and national strength. I particularly salute the distinguished members of the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) for their exemplary contributions to national development, strategic leadership, public service, peace-building and good governance. Across sectors and communities, AANI members continue to uphold the highest ideals of patriotism, integrity and statesmanship, thereby reinforcing the Association’s enduring role as a vital reservoir of national capacity and visionary leadership.
I also commend the gallant officers and personnel of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, the security and intelligence communities, for their sacrifices, professionalism and commitment to the defence of our nation and the preservation of peace and order. Their courage and dedication remain deeply appreciated by all patriotic Nigerians. However, I encourage them to redouble their efforts towards securing every part of our country and ensuring the safe return of all citizens held in captivity. At this critical juncture in our national journey, I also urge the political class to rise above divisive rhetoric, excessive politicking and narrow partisan calculations and focus more deliberately on issues that affect the welfare and aspirations of Nigerians. Leadership and political engagement must be anchored in solutions, responsible governance, the national interest and the urgent need to improve the living conditions of our people.
Let us all, irrespective of ethnicity, religion or political affiliation, recommit ourselves to the ideals of mutual respect, brotherhood, tolerance and love for one another. Our diversity must remain a source of strength and not division. May the blessings of Eid-el-Kabir bring renewed peace to our nation, comfort to our homes, wisdom to our leaders, strength to our security agencies and abiding prosperity to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Eid Mubarak.
